Men’s Golf | October 21, 2022
Senior Jack Boulger used a pair of eagles on his final two holes for his fourth-under-par round this year to lead the USC men’s golf team in the first round at Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Georgia on Friday 21st of October.
The Trojans combined for a 2 of 290, tied for 11th in the 14-team field. Host Georgia Tech and Clemson are tied for first under 12.
Boulger, who started the season with a win at the Husky Individual Invitational with a trio under 70 rounds, came back in the red on Friday with a 1-under 71, good for a tie for 25th, thanks to a pair of stellar putts to end his day.
After a bogey on the 7th left it 3 of 16 holes, Boulger first made the par-4 8th hole sinking a 65-foot putt. He then hit the par 5 of the 9th hole in 2 and was true from 20 feet for his 71.
The pair of smooth shots helped USC finish the final two holes at 6 under as the Trojans look to make a second-round move.
