Chicago men arrested in Franklin on Christmas Eve
RACINE, Wisconsin. – Two Chicago men – Shamir McNair and Antoine Gibson – were arrested on Christmas Eve after leading law enforcement in a Racine County chase in Franklin, officials said.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy arrested the speeding suspects on Interstate 94 on Friday afternoon. Shortly after their car stopped, however, it sped up.
The suspects’ car sped through traffic – going up to 120 mph – making “dangerous” movements around other vehicles. The chase was halted due to the danger and the excessive speed.

The driver pulled off I-94 at Seven Mile Road and almost collided with another deputy who was in his patrol car, the sheriff’s office said. The car then crossed the intersection and re-entered the freeway – eventually descending back down to Elm Road and heading west to 27th Street in Franklin.
Several law enforcement officers responded, including the Franklin Police Force and the Wisconsin State Patrol. The suspects’ car was found near the 27th and Drexel. The suspects were arrested without incident and taken to Racine County Jail.

McNair, 23, was the driver and was jailed for fleeing and evading an officer; second-degree reckless danger to safety; and resist and hinder an agent.
The deputies searched the car and found approximately 20 grams of marijuana. Gibson, 30, was jailed for possession of marijuana. He was the passenger in the car.
