Colleyville Households and Military Families to Receive City Gift Cards – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
The town of Colleyville has mailed a $ 35 gift card to every household in Colleyville as part of an ongoing gift card program to encourage residents to shop at local businesses, the town said in a report. press release Thursday.
Due to Independence Day, Colleyville military families also received a $ 50 gift card as part of the program, which began in 2018 with the construction of State Highway 26 and continued for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adrienne Lothery, Deputy City Manager of Colleyville told Mary Grace Granados of the Dallas Morning News in November 2020 that the city had sent gift cards, redeemable at any Colleyville business, to residents on three occasions in 2020.
In 2018, the city launched the gift card program due to the disruptive construction of State Highway 26, sending residents a $ 10 gift card.
The program was revived at the start of the pandemic, and the city said it had conducted a survey of businesses in Colleyville who said businesses were in favor of programs such as gift cards.
In addition to the gift card given to military families, the city also said in Thursday’s press release that it was preparing care packages to send to military personnel currently serving in the community.
Each household should have received their gift card, the city said, and the card must be used by July 31.
