Investigate paranormal cases in SCP: Secret Files
New and old fans of the community-driven SCP Foundation can rejoice when the official release date for SCP: Secret Files is announced at the Future Games Show.
Chinese developer GameZoo Studio and video game publisher Pixmain today announced the September 13th Steam PC release date for SCP: Secret Files in a mind-blowing new trailer revealed at GamesRadar’s Future Games Show.
SCP: Secret Files is a new game based on the SCP Foundation’s Community Writing Project’s vast catalog of anomalies, as well as all-new scares. Comprising horror, thriller, and puzzle-solving elements, the game features the classified work of a secret organization dedicated to protecting the world from malevolent anomalies.
With years of fan-made internet stories, SCP: Secret Files should have something for fans old and new. Dedicated veterans of the SCP Foundation will spot popular SCP entries in the trailer, such as the psychic “wizard child” known as SCP-239. For those who have yet to dive down the SCP rabbit hole, the game provides a gateway to the game’s vast lore.
Players will assume the role of an SCP Agent and experience an anthology of five diverse SCP cases, including fan favorites from the SCP universe and a brand new entry. Battle sand dunes across an impossibly endless desert, venture deep into an abandoned facility overrun by mysterious mannequins, and experience thrilling chase sequences through labyrinthine hallways. The game also features unique art styles for each “secret file”, including surreal cel-shading, eerie realism, and even pixel art.
