Military flyover as part of Summer Celebration
MECHANICSBURG – The United States Air Force conducted a low-level military flyover at 4 p.m. during the Mechanicsburg Summer Celebration on July 9, 2022.
The flyover featured the “US Air Force C-17 Globe Master” aircraft.
As “America the Beautiful” blared over the public address system, spectators at Goshen Memorial Park were able to witness the plane’s low-level approach (1,000 feet) from the east and make a single pass low to the west above the riding trails of the lower park area.
This aerial event was held to pay tribute and honor to all the men and women of the Mechanicsburg area who have proudly served in our nation’s armed forces. Their courage and sacrifices are truly worthy of recognition and we are truly grateful for their service.
The flyover was made possible through the efforts of the Mechanicsburg Fire Department, which oversaw the scheduling, planning and all communications with the United States Air Force to ensure the success of the event. The pilots and crew of the plane consisted of Major Andrew Floro, 1st Lt. Logan Sisca and Captain Kyle Kozak of the 445th Air Lift Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Saturday’s flyby featured the “US Air Force C-17 Globe Master” aircraft.
