Military mom announces candidacy for Missouri House

Ann Moloney, creator of Motivating Mom and mother of nine children – including seven in the military – has announced her candidacy for the Missouri legislature. In the race to replace limited-time Rep. Becky Ruth, Moloney will appear on the 2022 Republican primary ballot on August 2 for the Jefferson County-based seat.
âAlthough this is my first application for a position, I am no stranger to being in the public eye. From my time as a Motivating Mom with Covenant Network to working with religious and nonprofit causes, I have been very active in our community. As Rep. Ruth heads into her final term in the House, I want to make sure that conservative values ââcontinue to be upheld for our district. My mission is to preserve our freedoms and roll back the unconstitutional mandates that have crept into our lives. “
Over the years, Moloney has seen seven of his children choose to serve their country through different branches of the military. As a sister of eight siblings herself, Moloney often talks about the teamwork mentality that comes from being part of a large family:
âWhen you’re in a large family, it’s natural to take care of each other and lend a helping hand. You learn the sense of community responsibility and the power of cooperation. Of course, you also realize the importance of holding on. These are all skills that have helped me grow and served my children well when they entered military service. Now these are skills that can also be taken with me to the Missouri House. “
Moloney credits her children and grandchildren as the inspiration for her candidacy: âMy granddaughter once asked me, ‘Nana, why don’t you serve your country like mom and dad?’ I knew then that public service was my next calling, so I can proudly say to him: âYes! “
Moloney is a member of Respect Life (a pro-life organization) and previously served as the organization director for St. Joseph’s Imperial, Missouri Parish. She is also a member of the Serra Catholic Club of St. Louis and was president from 2014-2015.
âMy faith is the most important thing in my life. I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and all of my values ââand principles are inspired by the Word of God. I am disturbed by the recent attacks on religious freedom that we have seen across the country. I will fight to protect our right to worship and I will oppose all efforts to prevent churches from opening their doors under the guise of a “health policy”.
Moloney’s legislative goals include additional protections for the unborn child, preserving constitutional freedoms, and increasing parental control over the education of their children. Freedom of expression and the right to bear arms are noted by the candidate as “inalienable rights which should not even be the subject of debate”.
âConservatives must stand up for what is right or we will stop recognizing our country under the dark cloud of radical liberalism. My program is simple: defend life, uphold our rights and reject the socialist absurdities tolerated for far too long. The classroom has become a breeding ground for extremist indoctrination. Now more than ever, parents are demanding the right to send their children to schools focused on learning rather than indoctrination. Well, parents, you have been heard! I will fight for your child’s right to a quality education here in Missouri, because I want the same for my grandchildren.
Outside of the countryside, Ann contracts with the US Air Force as a child care provider for the Missouri National Guard and works as the education systems sales manager for Missouri schools. When not at work, she volunteers, spends quality time with her family and spoils her adorable grandchildren.
Ann Moloney retained the services of Axiom Strategies as a consultant for her campaign.
