Seaview Terrace was later rebuilt on Ruggles Avenue and originally included a chapel that could seat 150 people, a grand ballroom, an art gallery and a 500-seat theater.
Record MLS announcements in Newport
Seaview joins several price lists of record homes in Newport.
Last month, the 45-acre Seward estate along Ocean Drive went up for sale, with an asking price of $ 29.99 million, which, if sold on demand, would break the record for the state of the highest price ever paid for a residential house.
The current residential benchmark is the $ 17.75 million paid by singer Taylor Swift in April 2013 for 16 Bluff Ave. in the Watch Hill section of Westerly, according to multiple reports. It was not a list of multiple ad services.

When Bradley began to rebuild the house, “Seaview,” the Elizabethan-Renaissance mansion already on the site, was incorporated into the design and gave the new castle its name.
Parts that had been imported intact from France and installed in Washington, DC 20 years earlier were moved again and reassembled in Newport, and the new building was built around them.
According to MLS, Seaview has many articles of virtue, including “The Flagellation,” a Renaissance stained glass window designed for Milan Cathedral.
The Great Hall features a Gallery of Whispers, an elliptical hall reminiscent of St. Paul’s Cathedral, in which a person standing at one of the foyers can hear the slightest whisper uttered to the other. For years the mansion has been used as a dormitory.
Is the sea view terrace haunted?
In 2011, the “Ghost Hunters” of the Syfy Network brought the team from the Atlantic Paranormal Society to investigate Seaview Terrace, where the gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows” was filmed from 1966 to 1971.
During the episode, Principal Investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson watched a male voice in the lobby saying “Hello, is that you?” as well as a drastic temperature change in the third floor tower and a doorknob that turns by itself.
The investigation leads to “the strongest evidence they have ever heard,” according to Syfy.
