Three men shot dead, including one critically, in Fells Point shootings, police say could be linked – CBS Baltimore
BALTIMORE, Maryland (WJZ) – Baltimore Police are stepping up their presence after three people were injured in two shootings in the popular Fells Point neighborhood. They said they needed the public’s help to identify those responsible.
In this bustling part of town known for its bars and restaurants, a spooky turn of events Sunday morning after two shootings a few blocks away.

“It was a difficult night, to say the least,” said Detective Donny Moses, spokesman for the Baltimore Police Department.
Just after midnight, the police initially thought they heard firecrackers, but soon realized it was much more serious.
Witness Mason Bedard testified that he was enjoying a typical Saturday night outing.
“It was terrifying,” Bédard said. “I was in the square, just making new friends, and we heard a big noise. As soon as the noise occurred, everyone started running.
Two men, aged 24 and 26, were shot dead on Thames Street. They are expected to be OK.
A few minutes later, a second shootout recedes on Aliceanna Street. A man was shot in the head and is now in critical condition.
It comes as the number of violent crime in Baltimore City continues to rise.
Police said they were stepping up patrols because they wanted his presence to be known.

“Anything we can do to give that feeling of ubiquity so people know we’re here and hopefully we can thwart future acts like this,” Moses said.
Police plan to bring in officers from other divisions to support the businesses and customers who come here so often, Moses said.
“We’ve worked so hard to keep our businesses afloat, and now we’re open. And now this. It’s not good, ”said Beth Hawks, business owner at Fells Point.
There is evidence that these two shots are linked and the suspect (s) entered the area and ran out.
“It’s something I never thought would happen here,” Bédard said.
Police are also inspecting security footage from several cameras in the area. Police said they had no idea of the motive as there was no indication of any type of fight or altercation.
