Recent polls have shown that more than half of Americans believe in ghosts, and Montana is definitely home to (allegedly) haunted places. In fact, the Treasure State’s busiest ghost town, Virginia City, is known as a hotbed of paranormal activity. Whatever your personal beliefs, there’s no denying that people have had scary experiences here.
In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.

Visitors regularly report seeing a black-robed figure walking the streets, and some have seen apparitions near the Hanging House and at the cemetery. Some tourists have even spotted a bearded man in a Civil War uniform who looks angry and agitated.
